DREAMTIME (The Mythological Past), 2026
Digital Video, 5’09’’
The video-essay explores the relationship between the archive, melancholy, death, and the possibility of archival remains to continue speaking to the present. Composed of a selection from more than 500 reproductions of artworks, primarily drawn from the Alinari Archive, the work attempts to animate the fragments of an archive through a form of cinematic cadavre exquis. Both a personal reading and a dance of death unfolding across the timeline, the video reflects on the tension between the physical and the digital archive, imagining each as a site where memory, repression, and the unconscious persist.
